It looks good like that, imo. I"m really happy with mine, I think it looks great over a while button shirt, and I wore it at work this week over a black one and got several compliments. I did use 100% wool, elite classic skye tweed, very sticky when I was knitting it up, it washes and blocks out much softer. But it's definitely sturdy staff. I think it gives the sweater more structure than a softer drapier yarn would. And that is what I had in mind when I started knitting it.
