Which weight yarn?

I need to order a substitute yarn for this, but I don't know what kind to get because in the magazine, they say the specified yarn is 13 wpi which would make it a sport weight or lighter, but the yarn's website says it is gauge 4 which would make it worsted weight. Which weight are you all getting gauge with?

I am using a worsted weight yarn and NOT getting gauge. Plus the fabric is heavy - not what I think the designer had in mind.

I think you really need to have some alpaca in the yarn to get the drape want. Someone else might have a different opinion.

Good luck!

I'm using a sport weight merino and I went into it knowing I wouldn't get gauge. But I do like the fabric I'm getting and it seems like a good weight for this sweater. Now, if only it fits ...

I used Skye Tweed, which is worsted weight, I got a little bigger than gauge so just knit a smaller size. Mine is a firmer fabric but I like the look and feel of it.

I am getting gauge with a worsted weight - RYC Cashsoft Aran, but I tend to knit pretty tightly. The fabric is a bit more substantial than I'd imagined, so it will be more of a jacket than a cardigan.

I got gauge with Cascade 220, which is worsted weight. I'm using a size 7 needle.
